Caring for a family member can be rewarding, but everyone needs a break from time to time. Short-Stay Respite provides temporary accommodation and care at Oakville Senior Citizens Residence (OSCR) for stays ranging from 2 days to 2 weeks, giving caregivers time to rest while knowing their loved one is in good hands.

How it works
Short-Stay Respite gives caregivers the opportunity to take a temporary break while their loved one receives quality care in a safe, supportive environment. Our team will guide you through the assessment process, coordinate your respite stay, and help ensure you have the support you need every step of the way.
Assessment & Referral
A Respite Advisor or Care Coordinator from Nucleus works with you to determine whether Short-Stay Respite is the right option and completes the required assessment.
Respite Stay
If eligible, your loved one can stay at Oakville Senior Citizens Residence (OSCR), where they receive 24-hour support in a comfortable residential setting. Personal care, meals, recreation, medication management, and other services are provided as needed.
Ongoing Support
Our team helps coordinate your respite stay and provides guidance throughout the process to ensure both caregivers and clients receive the support they need.

Who can access this service?
Short-Stay Respite may be available to adults who:
Are 65 years of age or older
Live in the community
Meet eligibility requirements following an assessment
Require temporary residential respite care
Are able to remain safely independent and direct their own care
A daily fee applies for respite stays.
