Black History Month
February is Black History Month. Learn how Nucleus is committed to celebrating contributions, amplifying voices and addressing Anti-Black Racism.

Every February, people across Canada participate in Black History Month events and festivities that honour the legacy of Black people in Canada and their communities.
The 2024 theme for Black History Month is: “Black Excellence: A Heritage to Celebrate; a Future to Build.” This theme celebrates the rich past and present contributions and accomplishments of Black people in Canada, while aspiring to embrace new opportunities for the future.
At Nucleus, we are proud to embrace the theme of “A Future to Build,” pursuing initiatives that shape a brighter tomorrow for our Black community, clients and staff. We welcome staff, clients and caregivers to share their reflections on the theme and invite you to share experiences of how Nucleus can make strides in combating Anti-Black Racism (ABR).
Our Staff Experience Council, (who meets monthly) is tackling our policies related to equity, diversity and inclusion and will be reviewing frameworks aimed at dismantling systemic barriers within Nucleus and beyond. You can learn more about the Staff Experience Council here or read our commitment to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, here.
