Free mental health resources & counselling with WTC

In response to the unprecedented rise in mental health distress due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Government of Canada has introduced Wellness Together Canada (WTC), an online, confidential wellness service to support Canadians on their mental health and wellness journey.

Wellness Together Canada is an innovative new joint venture between leading Canadian mental health providers Kids Help Phone, Stepped Care Solutions and Homewood Health, and supported by Toronto-based leader in mental healthcare technology Greenspace Health, to offer a full range of mental health support to people of all ages in every part of Canada.

Based on a Stepped Care model that provides support at different levels or steps, WTC allows individuals to make decisions about the care they require and choose from a multitude of 24/7 services, such as immediate crisis support, self-assessment tools, educational resources, peer-to-peer support and counselling support by phone, text or live chat.

COVID-19 Vaccine Q&A Session with Dr. David Burt

Dr. David Burt is an immunologist with more than 30 years research experience in universities and vaccine companies. He has led scientific teams involved in the development of vaccines against various infectious diseases including influenza and SARS. He received his Ph.D. in Immunology from the University of Birmingham, UK and a BSc. in Biological chemistry from Essex University, UK. David received the African Canadian Achievement Award in Science in 1997 and the Harry Jerome Award for Health Sciences in 2006 for his professional work and promotion of science in the community. Currently, Dr. Burt is President of D. S. Burt, R&D Consulting, offering independent consulting advice in biotechnology and vaccine research and development. Dr. Burt is a member of the City of Toronto’s Black Scientist Task Force on Vaccine Equity whose mandate is to engage the communities most impacted by the pandemic around issues related to COVID-19 and vaccines.
